Description

Milip north Wahgi open. Side A: A short speech on the national election to young people in several aboriginal tribes. Followed by a recording of aboriginal songs. Side B: [blank] Physical tape held at the ANU Pacific Archives, Collection and Item ID: AU ANUA 440-1255. Side A: The short speech is by Western Highlands Regional candidate, Philip Kaman contesting the seat in the national elections. The young people and supporters of various tribes in the Waghi valley are mobilized and performing traditional songs sung encouraging as many voters for Philip. Whilst the polling in the elections are continuing in the Milip in North Waghi and Minj, Anglimp South Waghi areas, the aim of singing songs is promoting the interests of the people standing united with Philip Kaman.
