Description

Tano and Takot Mɨɨze name and explain the interior features of a Minyong house. This recording also includes some information related to cultural beliefs and traditions of Minyong villages. The house interior includes partitions according to gender and age, and also encodes cultural values such as who is allowed to go where and why. The interior also includes pigsty, which is attached to the house via a removable door. Some chickens were being kept in the pigsty at the time of the recording, and Tano Mize said that this was to protect them from an epidemic that was then spreading.
