Description

Video recording from a hilltop, looking down the valley toward Riga village, on a short excursion to see how dameŋ deadfall traps are set near fields in the hills around Riga village. In this segment, Tamor Mize shows the large bamboo grove of Riga village, called hɨram. He explains how sections of the grove are maintained by each clan, and also describes what happens when domestic animals such pigs, cows and mithuns stray inside the fencing and destroy the young bamboo shoots. Note that the next item in the natural sequence was a false start, and was not deposited.
