design student, Sydney. A drawing by Mr Cathells (sic) 'of Sydney School of Design’, exhibited with the Agricultural Society of New South Wales in 1872, was specially commended ( Sydney Mail , 18 May 1872). At the 1886 Colonial and Indian Exhibition in London, the NSW exhibits from the Technical College, Sydney 'Art Class, Freehand Drawing’ included no.12 Cathels – aged 20 -student – Greek ornament. Adelaide Jubilee International Exhibition 1887: NSW Exhibits – Technical College, Sydney – Art Class, Freehand Drawing – no.12 S.W. Cathels – aged 20 – student – Greek ornament.
