Jean (Georges Henri) Fombertaux (1920-1975) was born in Nice, France, gained his diploma of Architecture from the Sydney Technical College in 1948, when he was working for Lipson & Kaad. Shortly after he was registered that year, he left for an architect’s job in South Africa, returning in 1951. He set up in private practice and later joined HP Oser & Associates, becoming a partner there in 1961.
