Born near Well 33 on the Canning Stock Route c.1940, Michael Mutji was a Kukatja speaker with country at Kinyu and Tjunpartja. He resided at Balgo, where he began painting for Warlayirti Artists in 1988. He usually painted Dingo/Wati Kutjarra (Two Men) Dreaming. A quiet man who did a lot of painting and tried many different approaches to his art, yet always imparted the look of tradition.
