30O Throsby Ck at Newcastle - named after Charles Throsby, Surgeon, Commandant of Newcastle (see opp.). Ref: Stretch Ledger A9082 Note: Throsby Creek - named after Charles Throsby, who arrived in N.S.W. as Surgeon of the convict transport "Coromandel" on June 13, 1802. On August 1, 1804, he was transferred to Newcastle as Surgeon and Magistrate; and on April 30, 1805, he was appointed Commandant of Newcastle, where he remained till Sept. 21, 1809.
