Ref: Stretch Ledger A9082 Note: Historic corner How did Orange get its name? Orange was named after the Prince of Orange who later became the King of Holland! Orange was originally named Blackmans Swamp, by Assistant Surveyor Richards in 1829, after John Blackman, Chief Constable of Bathurst, and the discoverer of the road to Wellington Valley.
