28R Narrabeen N Manly - Aboriginal meaning: Narrobine, the name of a young gin or women. (see opp_ Ref: Stretch Ledger A9082 Note: Narrabeen - the name of the young gin who brought information of the murder of Captain Reynolds, who had bought John Ramseys grand, on which Narrabeen now stands. Said to have been so named by Lieut: Grant and Ensign Barallier in February 1801, as it was so called by the natives.
