Description

Law Courts, Pall Mall, Bendigo, 1892-96 (Saunders p. 239 pl. 546) Trust Class. "C" (Regional p.7); Hadden in "Modern Buildings", Vol. V p.170 describes the Courts as "a handsome structure designed in the Department of Public Works, a cost sum 38,000...a decidedly bad foundation had to be dealt with, the site being along the line of an old alluvial sludge channel, so that considerable depth of foundation had to be laid in with specially heavy concreting, the walls being of Harcourt granite up to ground-floor level..., The general inside finish is in ? cement..."
