Description

84 William St. (Queensland Insurance Coy.); Bldng July 1911, p. 55 records purchase of land (with blue stone building on it). Des. Butler & Bradshaw (Bldng Oct. 1911, p. 26) Bldng. June 1912 p. 67 building in progress; Bldng. July 1912 p. 17 describes the design as "closely approximating" American and continental buildings. The work is of Sydney freestone with a relief of pressed brick imported from Sydney the Melbourne brick combine would not except an order for bricks for a concrete building.
