Biography
travelling photographer, allegedly deserted his de facto wife Sarah Mitchell and their two children at Sydney in September 1861 and became a travelling photographer in rural New South Wales and Victoria in partnership with N.E. Plymouth . In February 1862 a warrant was issued for his arrest. The Police Gazette described him as 'about 20 years of age, 5 foot 10 inches [177 cm] high, fair complexion, light brown curly hair parted in the centre; native of Sweden; generally dressed in dark clothes and a Garibaldi hat’. He was reported to have left Sydney with a photographer named Plummer (evidently a mistake for Plymouth), in whose company he had been recognised travelling between Goulburn and Yass in January 1862. In June he was still at large, rumoured to be working as a photographer in Melbourne. This entry is a stub. You can help DAAO by submitting a biography.
