Biography
Painter, was born in Parma, Italy. He exhibited three works in the Gallery of Fine Arts at Parma and completed murals of the Four Seasons for the Casino at Nice before coming to Australia for a long stay. Here he specialised in landscape painting. His (very theatrical and European, with a Constable-style Romantic composition) oil on canvas Franklin Sunset, Tasmania 1883, formerly in a Tasmanian private collection, was offered for sale by Masterpiece Fine Art Gallery in September 2002, cat. 34 ($95,000). After returning to Italy he settled in Rome where he exhibited 32 sketches of the Isle of Capri. He showed a painting, View of the Roman Countryside , at the 1891 Berlin International Exhibition.
