Biography
painter, brother of Clas Edvard (Edward) Friström , was born in Sweden, son of Clas August Friström (sometimes spelt Fristrom in Australia and New Zealand), a teacher, and his wife, Christina Carlson. Oscar lived in Queensland from 1884. By 1885 he was a partner in a photographic studio that presumably also included his younger brother, Clas Edvard (known at Edward), who described himself as a photographic artist when he married Margaret Johnson in Brisbane on 11 July 1886. Both brothers appear to have been largely self-taught as artists. Oscar helped establish the Queensland Art Society. This entry is a stub. You can help the DAAO by submitting a biography.
