Biography
Born at Napperby Station in 1937, Maudie grew up at Haasts Bluff, where she had the first of her two daughters. Her husband passed away in 1980. She has been painting – coolamons and boomerangs – since she was first married, but only in the last five years or so on canvas. A Luritja speaker, she paints Witchetty Grub (Kunatjarrayi) Dreaming, Napaltjarris Dreaming (from her grandfather) and Grandmother story. She lives at Mt Liebig.
