Biography
Born around Mayilnpa, just out of Alice Springs, c.1935 into a Luritja/Amnatyerre speaking family, George Bush was an associate of the original group of artists in Papunya in the early ’70s. At the time, he was living in Papunya working as a police tracker. For a time in the early ’80s he lived on a remote outstation in his wife’s country, but mainly divided his time between Papunya, where he painted for Papunya Tula Artists, and Alice Springs, where he occasionally painted for the Centre for Aboriginal Artists.
