Biography
Lexie Donovan is an artist from the Gumbaingirr tribe. She was born in Bellingen, New South Wales, in 1943. Her father was a Dunghutti man from Kempsey; her mother a Gumbaingirr woman from Bowraville/Nambucca Heads. She moved to Grafton, New South Wales, in 1970 and began painting in 1991. Her works have been exhibited in group shows at the Grafton Regional Gallery and her painted boomerangs have been exhibited and sold in North Queensland.
