Biography
Michael J Dillon was an art student in Bendigo Technical College, Australia. March 1965 – 1966. DILLON was the second person employed by Wedgwood as a Designer / Potter at Barlaston, under the direct control of Mr. VICTOR SKELLERN. He was allowed to pursue his own sculpting style, creating Oriental-inspired shapes, abstract clay designs and special glazes. Most of his work is characterized by a pinched top. 1965/1966 – Ceramics Exhibitions:4 in LONDON2 in Atlanta & New Orleans, USA. Lecturer:3 Universities in Australia1 university in Malaysia 1971 – DILLON threw stoneware goblets, decorated by Mirka MORA. 2003 – 2004 – 12 months with Royal Selangor International, KUALA LUMPUR, on Special Design Project, for NEW range of Vinifera (wine item designs).
