Born Miya-miya in the mid ’40s, Teddy is a Warlpiri speaker who lives at Lajamanu. His country Miya-miya and Malungurru and his Dreamings are Ngurlu (Seed), Jungunypa (Bush Louse), Kalajirri (Hawk). An older man and brother of the late Maurice Luther Tjupurrurula, who led the Lajamanu Council until his death in 1985, Teddy commands a lot of respect in the Lajamanu community, where he lives.
