Summary
Purvis began his career as an art director for print and advertising firms after technical college training in Melbourne. In the 1970s, he became interested in design so-called kit motorcars with bodies bolted onto an existing chassis. He debuted the "Nova" fibreglass kit car in 1974, later producing the "Eureka" in a Dandenong, Victoria factory. He ceased "Eureka" production in 1989.
