Biography
Gordon Watt was 24 years old when he and others from Mornington Island, danced at the opening of the Sydney Opera House in 1973. He retired from dancing in 1990 and is now the songman leading the younger dancers. His paintings reflect his traditional designs of leg markings. Watt has exhibited his work at the Woolloongabba Art Gallery in the exhibition 'Jidmaa Thuwathu – Rainbow Serpent Rising’ in 2005 and in the 2006 'Gatherings II’ Brisbane exhibition.
