Biography
Elizabeth McCarthy was born in Melbourne on 1960. She studied Visual Art at Prahran College in Melbourne Vic from 1978-1981. She completed Post Graduate studies at the National Gallery School in Melbourne from 1982-1983 and won the National Gallery Vic student Acquisitive Award in 1983. She has been selected for a number of National Drawing Awards. She continued her studies at Charles Sturt university completing a Master of Arts in Visual Arts in 2002. Her first book “John Jess Seeker of Justice. The Role of the Parliament in the HMAS Voyager Tragedy” was published in 2015 by Sid Harta Publishers Melbourne. “The Power of Nature” followed in 2017, a book of her artwork spanning 30 years.
