Billy Zurvas a Mandanji painter and carver of the Maranoa region of Southern Queensland, was born in 1960. His works in the media of synthentic polymer on canvas are depictions of the bush tucker of his traditional country as well as paintings of survival. Zurvas is well known in Queensland as a carver of leather, emu egg, wood and animal horn. He was represented in the 2001 Queensland exhibition, “Gatherings, Contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art from Queensland, Australia”. This entry is a stub.
