Description

Layer Warning:
Only corroborees that were recorded can be represented, such that these are often those witnessed by and/or performed for colonists and other audiences. Their distribution therefor reflects colonial presence rather than the distribution of corroborees.
An aboriginals' corroboree was held on Coleman's Point with a small charge for admission with the proceeds to be shared between the hospital and the aboriginals. About 500 spectators were present. A sum of £3 was handed to the blacks and £5 to the hospital. About 20 men and boys put in an appearance with nearly as many lubras and children and about as many dogs from Lismore and the Tweed.
