Description

Jimmy Little was a Yorta Yorta musician who rose to prominence in the 1960s. He was inducted into the ARIA Australian Music Hall of Fame in 1999. He was declared 'a living Australian treasure' in a public vote and he also founded the Jimmy Little foundation "...to improve renal health across Indigenous communities in regional and remote Australia." Archie Roach is an Indigenous musician who has been recording music for almost 30 years. His album, Charcoal Lane, was released in 1990 and contained the single "Took the Children Away." This song was about "...the impact of the forcible removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples from their families and brought it to the attention of the global community."
