Ellemarra and Jandamrra were captured and taken to Derby to work in the chain gangs. Jandamarra was recognised as Lukin’s man and he was placed in the stables taking care of the police horses. They treated him as a mascot entering him into boxing matches and exhibiting his horsemanship.
