Only corroborees that were recorded can be represented, such that these are often those witnessed by and/or performed for colonists and other audiences. Their distribution therefor reflects colonial presence rather than the distribution of corroborees.
Natives from tribes lying between the Darling Range and the coast, extending from Pinjarrah to the Moore River flocked into Perth. Upwards of 90 located themselves near Crawley and nightly amuse themselves by corroborreing in preparation for the grand fete to be given to His Royal Highness Prince Alfred on his arrival. The natives were rationed by the government each receiving daily a fair allowance of flour, tea and sugar but were disappointed at not getting the usual quantum of meat and tobacco.
